Hold onto your helmets, Raiders! The latest update, February 1.15.0, is here, and it’s bringing a fresh wave of challenges and opportunities to the Rust Belt!
While the gritty reality of the Rust Belt often means leaving personal squabbles behind when you head topside, it seems Speranza itself has a bit of a moral compass. Even though Raider-on-Raider violence is a tough nut to crack, Celeste is gently nudging us to remember why we sought refuge beneath the dust. Just because our current digs are a bit rough around the edges, doesn't mean we have to stoop to the same level as the grime.
This brings us to a special occasion: The Shared Watch. This annual holiday is all about refocusing our attention on the real adversaries by celebrating those who have each other's backs. Whether you choose to tolerate, team up, or take on some ARC units, it's all in the true spirit of the Shared Watch.
But here's where it gets interesting... The Shared Watch is designed to be a prime opportunity for you to join forces against the relentless machines. This event kicks off today and will run until February 24th. During this time, you'll be racking up merits for destroying, assisting, and damaging ARC units, and yes, there are some sweet rewards waiting for you. Important note: No merits will be earned from Player vs. Player (PvP) encounters during this event. So, grab a buddy, or even a friendly stranger, but most importantly, make sure you’ve packed enough firepower to make those machines regret crossing your path!
And for those who love a bit of a challenge, Winter isn't quite finished with the Rust Belt! We're bringing back the Cold Snap map condition. This atmospheric twist is rejoining the rotation on outdoor maps, offering that familiar blend of risk and reward. The biting frostbite damage can turn your topside excursions into a very brief affair if you don't find shelter. However, for the brave souls who venture into the tundra, there's the enticing prospect of increased loot value! You can still gather those delightful Candleberries, though they're no longer tied to any specific event. Plus, you can now collect and, yes, even throw snowballs! Use them strategically, or just for a bit of fun – the choice is yours.
For the fashion-forward Raiders out there, get ready for some new threads! We're introducing The Vulpine set and The Slugger set to refresh your look.
Now, about those content and bug fixes…
Some of you eagle-eyed players have noticed changes in past updates that mysteriously vanished from the patch notes. A huge thank you for flagging these and keeping us on our toes! We’ve been pouring years into building ARC Raiders, but we’ve only recently opened our doors to the live world. We’re still finding our stride, and frankly, mastering the discipline of live operations. Creating patch notes that are comprehensive, accurate, and easy to digest is a skill we're actively honing.
We're refining our internal processes to ensure fewer details slip through the cracks. When something does get missed, your reports are invaluable in helping us catch it quickly and update the notes. So please, keep those suggestions and bug reports coming – it genuinely makes a difference!
And this is the part most people miss: Miscellaneous improvements!
- We’ve made strides in improving instances where players sometimes struggled to reconnect after a disconnection.
- A fix is in place for an issue where the match start tunnel scene would occasionally not display.
- We’ve addressed a problem where trial objective rewards could fail to grant at the end of a round due to timeouts, ensuring you now receive partial rewards when earned.
- An issue causing the end-of-round screen to sometimes display incorrect merits, XP, and Live Event points has been resolved.
- We've corrected an issue where player platform icons might have appeared incorrectly.
- A fix has been implemented for an issue where crafting actions would sometimes be cancelled unexpectedly.
Let's talk Utility:
- Trailblazer Grenade: Good news! The explosions from this grenade will no longer deal damage through walls. It will now inflict more damage on smaller enemies but less on larger threats like the Leaper and Bastion.
Weaponry:
- We've ironed out inconsistencies with weapon cycling when bound to keys other than the mouse wheel. Your keybinds should now swap weapons reliably.
Known Issues to keep an eye on:
- One of the helmet variants from the Marco set might look a bit off in previews and menus, but rest assured, it will appear correctly in-game.
- Occasionally, players might not receive a skill point as indicated on the result screen. A quick reboot or playing another round should sort this out.
- The ‘Purchase Raider Tokens’ page might pop up in front of your inbox and profile pages when you switch between them.
- Player animations could appear broken when interrupting the search for the Baron Husk.
- Certain containers might be un-interactable.
- Ziplines placed on destroyed ARC parts may not display correctly.
- The Scrappy “Batting Helmet” and the “Slugger” outfit might not render correctly in the event preview.
- The “Blindsided” achievement might not trigger as expected on your first try.
See you Topside,
