Three Bears players named to Pro Bowl

The Chicago Bears are having a remarkable season, securing their first playoff spot since 2020 and inching closer to the NFC North title with just two games to go. It's been a collective effort, but a few players have truly stood out. On Tuesday, three of them were recognized for their outstanding performances.
The NFL unveiled the Pro Bowl rosters for the AFC and NFC, and three Bears players made the cut. Safety Kevin Byard, guard Joe Thuney, and center Drew Dalman were all named to the NFC roster.
Kevin Byard
Byard, a seasoned veteran, is making his third Pro Bowl appearance this season. He's been a defensive force, leading the league with six interceptions and seven passes defensed. His leadership and ball-hawking skills have been instrumental in stabilizing a secondary that has endured numerous injuries this year.
Joe Thuney
Thuney, a decorated offensive lineman, is no stranger to the Pro Bowl, making his fourth consecutive appearance. He was traded to the Bears from the Kansas City Chiefs last March, and he hasn't missed a beat. The 33-year-old guard has been a pillar of the offensive line, particularly in pass protection. He's only allowed 12 total pressures, one QB hit, no sacks, and just two penalties all season, making him a quiet yet invaluable asset.
Drew Dalman
Dalman, a 27-year-old center, is earning his first Pro Bowl nod, solidifying the Bears' investment in him. After joining the Bears via free agency from the Atlanta Falcons, he signed a substantial three-year, $42 million contract to anchor the center position. This role has been a challenge for the Bears in recent years, but Dalman has proven to be the solution. He's been rock-solid in both run and pass protection and has formed a strong connection with quarterback Caleb Williams. Dalman has allowed 21 pressures, one QB hit, one sack, and three penalties.
All three players will participate in the Pro Bowl games, which will take place the week of Super Bowl LX in San Francisco.
