Test-Driving the Lamborghini Revuelto: A Hyper-Exotic Experience
The Lamborghini Revuelto in its striking Verde Ermes metallic paint is a head-turner, eliciting approving nods, astonished grins, and impromptu photo and video shoots. This hyper-exotic sports car boasts a jaw-dropping design, a ferocious V12-powered gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain, and performance that leaves most vehicles in its dust. It's a superhero's presence, exuding intimidation and exclusivity, and I recently spent a thrilling week with one.
Introduced in 2023 at Lamborghini's Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters, the Revuelto, like its predecessor, the Aventador, features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. However, it's more technically advanced, with an innovative gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. Beneath its composite bodywork lie three electric motors: two driving the front wheels and a third between the V12 and the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT). This setup delivers an astonishing 1,001 hp and 783 lb-ft of torque, approximately five times that of most passenger vehicles.
In Los Angeles, despite the rain, the Revuelto's all-wheel drive and four sophisticated drive modes (Città, Strada, Sport, and Corsa) along with three hybrid modes (Recharge, Hybrid, and Performance) make it adaptable to various conditions. The upward-opening scissor doors not only impress passersby but also facilitate easy entry and exit.
