Myles Kennedy on New Slash Album: 'Keeping Our Signature Sound' (2026)

Get ready for an exciting update on the highly anticipated new album from SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS! In a recent interview, Myles Kennedy, the talented vocalist and frontman of ALTER BRIDGE, shared some juicy details about the upcoming record. But here's where it gets controversial... the band aims to stick to a 'certain' sound, raising questions about artistic boundaries and fan expectations.

Kennedy revealed that all the tracks have been recorded, with his vocals wrapped up as early as August 2025. The goal is to get the album mixed and released soon, but with the ALTER BRIDGE tour cycle in full swing, the band is taking their time to ensure a quality release. And this is the part most people miss... the musical direction of the new material is a consistent approach, with a focus on riff-based rock 'n' roll infused with Slash's signature blues element.

Slash himself confirmed that the album is done, with mixing scheduled for January 2027. He emphasized the importance of finding the right window for a full-scale tour, which is set to follow the album's release. Slash described the record as 'badass,' expressing his excitement without overhyping it.

In an August 2025 social media post, Slash revealed that the recording sessions were complete, with high praise for the outcome. He wrote, 'This has been a super cool session all around... Unfortunately, you'll have to wait till 2027 to weigh in, but it will be worth the wait.'

Brent Fitz, the band's drummer, praised Slash's incredible work ethic and shared insights into the recording process. He described how they toured together in 2024 and then Slash worked on a blues record and tour before diving into the studio in L.A. to record the bed tracks in Florida.

When asked about a working title for the album, Brent revealed that they often use comedic working titles, which sometimes stick. He shared a funny story about how some of their songs still carry these goofy titles, even in their live setlists.

Kennedy described the direction of the record as riff-based rock 'n' roll with a heavy dose of Slash's unique blues element. He expressed his excitement about touring the new material live.

In December 2024, Myles told SiriusXM's 'Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk' that the writing process was completed before his solo tour. He highlighted the challenge of writing compared to the ease of recording. Slash sent him demos, and together they crafted melodies and lyrics. Myles praised Slash's understanding of chord progressions that create space for compelling melodies.

SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS entered the studio in November 2024 to begin recording their fifth album. The band kicked off their 'The River Is Rising - Rest Of The World Tour '24' in January 2024, performing a deep cut from GUNS N' ROSES, 'Don't Damn Me,' with Kerns on lead vocals.

Support for various dates of the tour came from MAMMOTH WVH, now known as MAMMOTH. Prior to the tour, the band last performed in February and March 2022 as part of a U.S. tour.

Their latest album, '4,' was released in February 2022 via Gibson Records in partnership with BMG. It was Slash's fifth solo album and fourth with the band, featuring Kennedy, Fitz, Kerns, and guitarist Frank Sidoris.

For '4,' the band traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, and recorded the album at the historic RCA Studio A with producer Dave Cobb. Cobb shared the band's desire to record live in the studio, including guitar solos and vocals, a first for the group. This approach revealed a stunning new sound and style.

Slash also released a blues album, 'Orgy Of The Damned,' in May 2024 via Gibson Records. In the summer of 2024, he brought his 'S.E.R.P.E.N.T.' festival to cities across the U.S., performing with his blues band.

So, what do you think? Is it exciting to hear about the band's consistent approach to their sound, or do you prefer when artists experiment and veer away from expectations? Let's discuss in the comments and share your thoughts on this highly anticipated album!
