A life well lived, a legacy to cherish: John Madden's journey comes to a peaceful end.
On December 23, 2025, John Madden, a beloved member of the Midwest Radio community, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Mayo University Hospital. John's roots were firmly planted in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, but his story began in Manchester, UK.
John was predeceased by his parents, Bridie (née Regan) and Sean Madden, and his sister, Ann Madden. He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Kelly Clarke (née Madden) and Sean Madden, and their respective partners, Micheál Clarke and Roisín Madden (née Evans). John's granddaughter, Mealla, will forever cherish the memories they shared.
John's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, son, granddaughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and his extended family, including his nephew Jason and niece Helen.
But here's where it gets controversial... John's funeral arrangements are a topic of interest. His funeral will commence at his residence on Saturday morning, December 27th, and proceed to The Church of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven, Enniscrone, for a Requiem Mass at 11:00 am. Following the Mass, a cremation service will take place at McGowan's Crematorium and Funeral Home in Collooney, Co. Sligo (Eircode F91 AKW5).
